Tiny implant tested to ease debilitating endometriosis pain

NCT ID NCT05570786

Summary

This study tested whether a small, dissolving hormone pellet placed under the skin could safely reduce pelvic pain caused by endometriosis. It involved 100 women who had pain despite prior surgery. For 6 months, half received the active hormone implant and half received a placebo (inactive) implant, with neither the participants nor doctors knowing which was which, to see if the new treatment was better and safer.
