Heart scan prep: pill may beat strict diet

This study tested whether the diabetes drug empagliflozin could replace a high-fat, low-carb diet for preparing heart PET scans. Sixteen healthy adults took part. The goal was to see if the drug suppresses heart sugar uptake as well as the diet does, potentially making scan preparation easier.
