Could a PTSD therapy ease debilitating Brain-Body symptoms?

NCT ID NCT05455450

Summary

This study explored whether a therapy called EMDR, commonly used for trauma, could help people with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). FND causes distressing symptoms like seizures, weakness, and walking difficulties without a clear physical injury. The research involved 50 adults with FND to see if adding EMDR therapy to their usual medical care was practical and showed signs of reducing their symptoms and improving daily life.
