First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether a therapy called EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) can help people with functional neurological disorder (FND), a condition where the brain and body have trouble communicating, causing symptoms like seizures, shaking, or weakness. 50 adults with FND were randomly assigned to receive EMDR plus usual care or usual care alone. The goal was to see if offering EMDR is practical and might reduce symptoms, with follow-up over 9 months.
