NCT ID NCT03628248
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether blocking the inferior mesenteric artery with tiny particles 3-4 weeks before rectal or sigmoid colon cancer surgery helps the colon develop better blood flow. Ten adults with rectal or sigmoid cancer took part. The goal was to see if this pre-treatment improves oxygen and blood supply to the colon during surgery, potentially reducing complications.
