New drug offers hope for rare joint tumor patients unable to have surgery

Summary
This study tests an investigational drug called emactuzumab for people with tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT), a rare, non-cancerous growth in the joints that can cause pain and stiffness. The trial includes 128 participants who cannot have surgery to remove the tumor. Half receive the drug and half receive a placebo, given as an IV infusion every two weeks for five doses. The goal is to see if the drug shrinks the tumor and improves joint function.
