Scientists probe the hidden toll of extreme training on elite athletes
NCT ID NCT07243613
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the bodies and moods of top-level rowers respond to a maximum effort test after a week of hard training. Researchers compared 28 elite male and female athletes, measuring stress hormones and brain chemicals in their blood before and after a tough rowing test. The goal was to see how physical and mental fatigue builds up and whether men and women experience it differently.
