New laser device may help glaucoma patients see clearly and reduce eye pressure

Summary
This study tested a device called ELIOS that uses a laser to lower eye pressure in people with mild to moderate open-angle glaucoma who are also having cataract surgery. The goal was to see if the procedure is safe and effective at reducing the need for glaucoma medications. 318 adults took part in this completed trial.
