First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested a treatment called intratissue percutaneous electrolysis (IPE) for people with a painful, tight muscle in the foot caused by myofascial pain syndrome. 40 adults received the treatment, and researchers measured changes in muscle activity and foot pressure over 12 weeks. The goal was to see if IPE could relieve muscle shortening and pain better than standard dry needling.
