Needles and current: can electroacupuncture tame menopausal weight gain and liver fat?
NCT ID NCT07437001
Summary
This study aims to see if a 12-week course of electroacupuncture can help reduce central obesity (belly fat) and improve fatty liver in postmenopausal women. It will involve 60 women aged 50-60 who are overweight and have signs of fatty liver and high cholesterol. Researchers will measure changes in weight, waist size, liver enzymes, and blood fats to see if the treatment is effective.
