Summary
This study tested whether a modern form of acupuncture using mild electrical pulses could safely reduce pain for people suffering from long-term nerve pain after a shingles outbreak. It involved 448 adults aged 45-75 across seven hospitals, comparing the effects of electroacupuncture to standard care. The main goal was to see if this treatment could significantly lower pain scores and improve sleep and daily life for patients.
