Could a headset calm teen anxiety? new trial tests electrical stimulation
NCT ID NCT06956105
Summary
This study is testing whether a gentle electrical stimulation device worn behind the ears can help reduce anxiety in teenagers. Up to 60 adolescents with diagnosed anxiety will use either the real device or a look-alike 'sham' device for 30 minutes, five days a week, at a clinic over 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in anxiety, sleep, and quality of life to see if this non-drug approach is effective.
