Zap to walk again? electrical therapy tested for stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT07130929

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether adding functional electrical stimulation (FES) to standard physical therapy can help improve leg muscle weakness in people recovering from a severe stroke. FES uses gentle electrical pulses through skin pads to help activate muscles during guided exercises. Researchers will compare leg strength and movement in two small groups over five weeks to see if the combined therapy works better than therapy alone.
