Zapping away bladder troubles: new study tests two electrical methods
NCT ID NCT07366918
Summary
This study aims to find out if electrical stimulation applied inside the vagina or on the perineal area (between vagina and anus) is better at reducing incontinence and improving quality of life for women with overactive bladder. Sixty-three women who haven't found relief from standard medications will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two stimulation methods plus bladder training, or just bladder training alone. Researchers will measure changes in incontinence episodes, symptom severity, and quality of life over an 8-week treatment period.
