Zap your heartburn away? new patch trial offers hope for reflux sufferers

NCT ID NCT06613438

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive device called eGERD that uses electrical stimulation to treat acid reflux disease (GERD). Researchers are comparing the real device to a fake 'sham' version in 84 adults to see if it safely reduces stomach acid in the throat and improves symptoms like heartburn. Participants will wear the device for 28 days and track their symptoms using a smartphone app.
