Gentle zaps tested to ease stiff muscles in kids with cerebral palsy

NCT ID NCT07491341

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a gentle, non-muscle-contracting electrical stimulation to standard physical therapy could help improve ankle movement, reduce muscle stiffness, and boost daily function in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Eleven children completed a 12-week program, starting with therapy alone and then adding the stimulation. The goal was to see if this combined approach was practical and showed promising signs of helping with movement and independence.
