Zap your knee pain? study tests electric therapy after ACL surgery

NCT ID NCT06910150

Summary

This study is testing whether a single session of electrical stimulation on the thigh muscle can help reduce pain and improve recovery for people who have recently had ACL knee surgery. Forty-five participants will receive standard physical therapy, with some also getting either a non-invasive or a needle-based electrical stimulation treatment. Researchers will measure pain, strength, swelling, and knee function immediately after the treatment and over the following week.
