Gentler breathing tube pressure could ease Post-Surgery pain for seniors

NCT ID NCT07461467

Summary

This study is testing if carefully monitoring and adjusting the air pressure in a common breathing device (a laryngeal mask airway) can reduce throat soreness, hoarseness, and other complications after surgery in people aged 60 and older. Researchers will compare a group where the pressure is actively managed to a group where it is only monitored. The goal is to find a safer, more comfortable way to manage breathing during anesthesia for older patients.
