Mapping the pain journey: why some elderly patients hurt more after surgery
NCT ID NCT05865366
Summary
This study observed 300 older adults after non-heart surgery to understand how their pain changes over the first week. Researchers tracked pain scores daily and looked at factors like age, health conditions, and anxiety to see what might predict who develops more severe or longer-lasting pain. The goal is to learn how to better identify and help patients at risk for difficult recovery.
