New tool aims to ensure elderly patients get the care they actually want
NCT ID NCT06002113
Summary
This study is testing a new conversation guide designed to help doctors and hospitalized patients aged 80+ discuss their preferences for end-of-life care, like resuscitation and life support. Researchers want to see if using this tool leads to care that better matches what patients want, compared to usual hospital discussions. The goal is to prevent unwanted, aggressive treatments and reduce suffering for patients and their families.
