New scaffold could help heal damaged elbow cartilage

NCT ID NCT07149896

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a collagen scaffold (a supportive protein structure) during a standard elbow surgery helps the body grow better-quality new cartilage. It will enroll 90 adults (ages 18-55) with elbow cartilage damage that hasn't improved with rest or medication. Researchers will compare patients who get the scaffold plus surgery to those who get surgery alone, checking cartilage quality with MRI scans and tracking pain and elbow function over 6 months.
