New imaging method could help ventilated newborns breathe easier
NCT ID NCT05612256
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a safe, non-invasive imaging technique called electrical impedance tomography (EIT) can help doctors find the best breathing support settings for newborn infants on ventilators. About 86 babies born between 22 and 41 weeks of pregnancy who need breathing help will take part. The goal is to see if EIT can guide care and improve lung function.
