High-Tech imaging could Fine-Tune life support for critically injured lungs

NCT ID NCT07313644

Summary

This study is testing if a special bedside imaging technique, called electrical impedance tomography (EIT), can help doctors find the best ventilator pressure settings for patients with severe lung failure (ARDS) after major trauma or surgery. It compares this high-tech guided approach to the standard method. The goal is to see if the EIT-guided method improves oxygen levels and lung function, and leads to better recovery outcomes for these critically ill patients.
