Eggs on the menu: a new hope for eye health?
NCT ID NCT07021027
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This small early-phase study is testing whether older adults with intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can stick to eating 2 or 4 whole eggs daily for 5 months. The goal is to see if this is a practical approach for a future larger trial that could explore how eggs might affect vision and overall health. There is no cure for AMD, and this study does not aim to cure it, but rather to gather information on a possible dietary strategy to manage the condition.
