First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether rinsing with a green tea extract (EGCG) during a tooth-saving procedure can lower pain and improve success rates for people with a severe, painful tooth condition called irreversible pulpitis. About 64 adults with deep cavities will receive one of two rinses and one of two filling materials. Pain will be checked at 24, 48, and 72 hours, and success will be tracked for up to 12 months.
