New patch eases ankle sprain pain in hours, study finds

Summary
This study tested a special patch (EFTS) containing a pain-relieving medicine against a placebo patch in 69 adults with mild ankle sprains. The goal was to see if the patch could reduce pain during movement over the first 48 hours. Results showed the medicated patch worked better than placebo for short-term pain relief.
