New drug trial aims to help teens with rare bleeding disorder

NCT ID NCT07194850

Summary

This study is testing a drug called efgartigimod in teenagers (12 to under 18 years old) who have chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system attacks blood platelets. The main goal is to find the correct dose and see if it helps increase and maintain safe platelet counts to control the disease. Participants will first receive either the drug or a placebo, and then all will have the option to receive the drug in a longer, open-label part of the study.
