Brain waves reveal best way to sedate patients for throat exams
NCT ID NCT06511128
Summary
This study aimed to find the best way to sedate patients for a throat exam called drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE). Researchers monitored the brain activity of 50 patients using a special 4-channel EEG device to see how deeply they were sedated with two different drug combinations. The goal was to gather information to help doctors perform this procedure more safely and effectively in the future.
