Summary
This was the first study in humans of a new experimental drug called EDP167, which is designed to lower cholesterol and other blood fats (lipids). The trial tested single injections at different doses in 40 healthy volunteers and people with mildly high cholesterol to check its safety and how the body processes it. Researchers monitored participants for 85 days to see if the drug reduced specific proteins and fats in the blood linked to heart disease risk.
