First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study watches 300 adults who take SGLT-2 inhibitors for diabetes and are recovering in the intensive care unit after surgery. Researchers want to find out how often these patients develop euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (EDKA), a rare but serious condition where acid builds up in the blood even though blood sugar is normal. The goal is to learn which factors increase the risk so doctors can better prevent and manage this complication.
