Scientists test drug delivery through a tube in nose
NCT ID NCT04776135
Summary
This early-stage study aimed to understand how the body absorbs a liquid drug called edaravone when it is swallowed normally compared to when it is delivered through a thin tube placed in the nose and down to the stomach. It involved 36 healthy Japanese adults to check for safety and measure drug levels in the blood. The goal was to gather basic information for future use in patients who might need to take the drug but cannot swallow.
