Doctors track anesthesia changes in repeated shock therapy

NCT ID NCT07418463

Summary

This study aims to understand if the amount of anesthesia a patient needs changes when they receive multiple sessions of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for severe depression. Researchers will observe 35 adults undergoing standard ECT treatment, recording their anesthesia doses and recovery times. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors better manage anesthesia during this treatment, but the study itself does not provide any new therapy.
