Does centralizing life support care save more lives?
NCT ID NCT05154071
Summary
This study looked at whether creating a specialized referral center for patients needing advanced lung support (called ECMO) would help more people survive. Researchers reviewed medical records of 172 adult patients who received this treatment at a French hospital over ten years. They compared outcomes before and after the specialized center was created to see if it made a difference in survival rates and hospital stays.
