Last-Minute ultrasound may prevent unnecessary C-Sections for big babies
NCT ID NCT07433751
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether doing an ultrasound within 24 hours of delivery can more accurately detect fetal macrosomia (birth weight ≥4000g) than standard earlier scans. About 285 pregnant women with suspected large babies will get an extra ultrasound at 36 weeks, and researchers will compare its accuracy to the actual birth weight. The goal is to reduce unnecessary labor inductions or C-sections by improving diagnosis.
