First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a simpler 3-step hand-washing method works as well as the standard 6-step method recommended by the World Health Organization. Over 1,000 patients in different hospital units took part. The goal was to see if the quicker method could reduce infections caught in the hospital while being easier for healthcare workers to follow.
