Pancreatic study: could removing stents two weeks earlier prevent fluid return?
NCT ID NCT07307248
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at adults with walled-off pancreatic necrosis who need a drainage procedure. Researchers want to see if removing a metal stent after 2 weeks (instead of the usual 4) and placing a plastic one reduces the chance of fluid buildup coming back. About 408 participants will be followed for 12 months to compare recurrence rates.
