First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at 172 children aged 1-8 years having day surgery to see if drinking clear fluids one hour after anesthesia is safe. Half were offered fluids at 1 hour, half at 2 hours. The goal was to check if earlier drinking increases vomiting or other problems. Results help guide when kids can safely drink after surgery.
