First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether starting skin-to-skin contact right after a cesarean birth helps lower stress in newborns and pain in mothers. About 120 mothers having planned C-sections will take part. Researchers will use checklists to make sure the contact happens early and lasts, then measure baby stress and sucking success, plus mother pain and stress levels.
