New blood test could give doctors a head start against deadly sepsis
NCT ID NCT07232784
Summary
This study aimed to see if measuring a protein in the blood called Pancreatic Stone Protein (PSP) can help doctors recognize sepsis earlier in ICU patients who are at high risk. Researchers followed 250 adult ICU patients in China, collecting daily blood samples and tracking their health for 28 days. The goal was to compare PSP to current tests to see if it is a more accurate or faster warning sign for sepsis.
