Brain boost trial aims to stop schizophrenia before it starts
NCT ID NCT05052853
Summary
This study is testing whether a drug that boosts a specific brain chemical (NMDA) can help control early warning signs of schizophrenia. It will involve 48 people who show these early signs and don't get enough benefit from a 6-week program of exercise and education. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real drug or a placebo pill for 12 weeks to see which one better reduces their symptoms and improves thinking skills.
