First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether starting palliative care early helps cancer patients feel better. It included 108 adults with upper gastrointestinal or colorectal cancer who were about to start chemotherapy. Half were assigned to early palliative care, while the other half received it only when needed. Researchers measured quality of life, pain, anxiety, and survival to see if early support made a difference.
