Summary

This study tested whether connecting advanced cancer patients with palliative care specialists early in their treatment improves their quality of life. Researchers followed 108 patients with stomach, esophageal, or colorectal cancers who were receiving chemotherapy. They compared patients who received early palliative care support to those who received it only when needed, measuring pain, anxiety, and overall well-being.
