Fresh food & coaching for families: can early support prevent childhood obesity?
NCT ID NCT03003117
Summary
This study is testing whether a special support program can help families facing financial hardship establish healthy eating and activity habits for their young children. The program provides home visits with education, discounted fresh fruits and vegetables, kitchen tools, and food vouchers from pregnancy until the child turns two. Researchers are comparing 800 families who receive this extra support to 800 families who get only general health information, to see if the program leads to better diets, more activity, and healthier growth in the children's first two years.
