Early valve fix may prevent future heart trouble in silent stenosis patients
NCT ID NCT01406353
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether doing a heart valve repair procedure early (called percutaneous mitral commissurotomy) is better than waiting and using standard care for people who have moderate mitral stenosis but no symptoms. The goal is to see if early treatment can prevent serious problems like stroke, blood clots, or death. About 167 participants are being followed over time to compare outcomes between the two approaches.
