Race against time: can earlier blood thinner save heart attack patients?

NCT ID NCT07361783

Summary

This large study is testing if giving a common blood-thinning medication (heparin) immediately after diagnosing a major heart attack, rather than later during surgery, leads to better patient recovery. It will involve over 6,200 patients across about 80 hospitals who are scheduled for emergency artery-opening surgery. The main goal is to see if this early treatment reduces the combined risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or other major heart problems within 30 days.
