Sending new moms home early: is it safe?

NCT ID NCT03114930

Summary

This study looked at what happened when mothers and their healthy newborns were sent home from the hospital earlier than before, following new 2014 guidelines. Researchers tracked 177 eligible mother-baby pairs for one month after they went home to see if this earlier discharge led to more complications, re-hospitalizations, or problems with breastfeeding. The goal was to understand the real-world impact of these new, shorter hospital stay recommendations.
