NCT ID NCT07588386

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether doing a colonoscopy 5 to 8 days after low colorectal cancer surgery can help doctors find and treat internal leaks (anastomotic leakage) earlier than standard monitoring. About 140 adults who had surgery for colorectal cancer will be randomly assigned to either an early colonoscopy or usual care. The goal is to see if early detection reduces the need for emergency reoperations and improves recovery.
