New approach aims to tame painful arthritis side effect of cancer drugs

NCT ID NCT06037811

Summary

This study is testing if starting a drug called adalimumab early can better control a painful arthritis that sometimes develops as a side effect of powerful cancer immunotherapy drugs. The main goal is to see if this approach helps patients reduce or stop their use of steroid medications, which have many side effects. About 30 adults who developed this arthritis while on cancer treatment will be randomly assigned to receive either adalimumab injections or the current standard steroid treatment to compare the results.
