Scientists test ancient Ear-Poking theory on modern nerves

NCT ID NCT04130893

Summary

This study aimed to understand if stimulating very specific points on the ear, as done in some traditional therapies, causes different effects on the body's automatic functions like heart rate and blood flow. Researchers tested this by having healthy volunteers place a hand in cold water while receiving gentle stimulation at two different ear points. The goal was to gather basic knowledge, not to treat any medical condition.
