Zap your ear to calm your nerves? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07369908
Summary
This study is investigating whether a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation on the outer ear (called taVNS) can help reduce feelings of anxiety and improve how people regulate their emotions. Researchers are recruiting 140 healthy volunteers to receive either the real stimulation or a sham (fake) version while measuring brain activity, heart rate, and stress responses. The main goal is to understand how this stimulation works in the brain and body, not to provide direct treatment.
